Full job description
Description We are looking for an experienced In House Counsel to provide legal guidance for lending initiatives that connect financial institutions and fintech partners. This fully remote role supports the development, launch, and ongoing management of consumer and commercial credit offerings while working closely with teams across product, compliance, risk, and operations. The position is based in Wilmington NT, Delaware and offers the opportunity to advise on complex regulatory matters while helping the business build practical, compliant lending solutions.
Responsibilities:

Advise internal stakeholders on the legal framework for consumer and commercial lending programs involving bank and fintech collaboration.

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements related to lending products, vendor relationships, and strategic partnerships.

Provide legal support throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept and rollout to servicing and ongoing program enhancements.

Interpret applicable lending laws and regulatory expectations, and translate them into practical guidance for business teams.

Partner with compliance, risk, operations, and product leaders to identify legal issues and develop workable solutions that align with business goals.

Review customer-facing materials, disclosures, and program documentation to help ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory alignment.

Support the management of evolving legal and regulatory developments affecting fintech, banking, and sponsored lending structures.

Contribute legal insight to cross-functional discussions involving new initiatives, contract matters, and operational processes. Requirements

Juris Doctor degree and an active bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

At least 7 years of legal experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or a closely related environment.

Strong background advising on bank-fintech arrangements and lending programs, including consumer or commercial credit products.

Deep understanding of lending laws, regulatory expectations, and legal considerations relevant to fintech and financial institutions.

Demonstrated ability to deliver practical, business-focused legal advice in a cross-functional setting.

Experience drafting commercial contracts and leading contract negotiations.

Strong foundation in corporate law and contract development as part of an in-house or related legal practice.
