$32.99 per hour | Full-time

Responsible for staff development by coordinating and instructing detention officer certification training, non-security pre-service training, annual in-service training, and new hire orientation in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

What you will do

• Establish periodic and annual reviews of all facility training programs.

• Use established curriculum to provide instruction for detention officer certification, non-security preservice training, and annual in-service training. May be required to develop curriculum for some training courses.

• Facilitate and ensure new hire orientation for new employees using established curriculum is completed.

• Implement training policies and procedures for facility compliance.

• Conduct regular reviews and inspections to ensure facility operations and programs meet compliance with all applicable laws and agency policy. This regular self-monitoring will be separate from any other inspections conducted by other agencies.

• Ensure that quarterly reports on the facility’s training activities are provided to the appropriate individuals or agencies.

• Long periods of standing and walking are required.

• Regular and predictable onsite attendance is required.

• The incumbent is required to work overtime when directed to do so.

• Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed. Provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques.

What you will need

• High School Diploma or GED, excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience in training, or organizational development three (3) years’ experience in adult correction or detention facility environment or related field required

• US Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident required.

• Must pass required preservice training and become a certified trainer within 6 months of hire.

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
