Description

Robert Half Permanent Placement is excited to partner with an aerospace industry manufacturer in the Buffalo, NY area on their search for a skilled Quality Engineer. This role has a starting salary of $65,000 - $85,000 depending on experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Our great client is going through a growth stage and needs to add a QE with direct experience with First Article Inspection Reports that can step right in a be a part of a highly functioning Quality team.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Prepare, review, and complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in compliance with AS9100D and customer requirements

  • Support internal audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, customer, and company quality standards

  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and lead root cause/corrective action investigations and continuous improvement efforts

  • Review and disposition nonconforming material in coordination with Engineering, Production, and Inspection

  • Participate in design/drawing reviews, with knowledge of GD& T, tolerances, manufacturability, and inspection requirements

  • Develop and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, records, and other controlled documentation

  • Provide technical guidance to the Inspection Team, including use of precision measurement equipment and interpretation of mechanical/electrical drawings

  • Participate in client visits that review testings of potential purchasing solutions

Requirements

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience is a big plus. Minimum of associates degree highly preferred. Experience with FAIRs is ideal

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and/or AS9100D, with experience conducting internal audits and applying GD& T principles

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical assembly diagrams, and operate precision inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and microscopes

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and advanced Excel proficiency, with the ability to document and analyze quality data
