Job Description
JWF Industries is a growing metal manufacturing company, continuing to expand into defense & other markets with long-term work. We are seeking Coatings Specialist to join our team; the position will be based in Johnstown, PA. This is a critical role, working closely with all levels of management, as well as the shop floor, that includes over 1,000,000 square feet of metal manufacturing space.
The successful candidate must have knowledge in wet coating processes and military paint specifications. Will be responsible for providing technical guidance to ensure the highest quality Coating standards and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. Leads all compliance activities and manages each step of JWFI's coating processes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Demonstrate effective safety leadership for the health and safety of all employees and visitors.
Essential Duties

Implements and enforces quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards, to include military standards.

Responsible for the quoting process; supports the order management process by supplying required information

Orders and maintains all paint and shop supplies; maintains inventory levels, manages expiration dates, leads cost management of all supplies; negotiates, prices, and purchases materials

Writes procedures, reports, and Certificates of Compliance for all coating activities, inspections, and quality control measures

Serves as the primary point of contact for both internal & external audits

Trains production staff on quality standards and procedures.

Knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) compliance requirements related to painting operations and disposal of hazardous waste; maintains test panels for seven (7) years

Design, develop, test, source and cost-justify various tools and equipment
Education Level
Post-secondary education or previous work experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience
Work requires a level of manufacturing process knowledge generally gained through formal post-secondary education or previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.
An above-average level of interpersonal/verbal/written communication skills are required to be able to work with all levels of internal employees and external customers & vendors.
Must have knowledge of military paint standards.
Work requires occasional travel to vendor locations to resolve issues.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to have the ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands (including gripping & grasping) and reach with arms. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee will frequently walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision requirements such as color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
