Position Summary Manages financial records and ensures that the financial transactions are properly recorded. Maintains accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording all transactions in the general ledger system.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
- Oversees the completion of general accounting functions, including research, report preparation, and analysis.
- Completes various month-end close tasks, including calculating and preparing journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
- Develops, implements, and maintains robust internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Provides detailed financial analysis and reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Mentors and develops junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Guarantees compliance with all applicable financial regulations and standards, including Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance.
- Partners with business partners to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field.
- Public Accounting experience preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, accounting systems, and automated close tool software.
- Advanced experience in Excel.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
