Lab Assistant

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Laboratory Assistant, you willl accurately and efficiently perform all necessary laboratory services.

Every day you will perform the following duties: patient registration, test ordering, specimen collection, and pre- and post-analytical processing. You will utilize hospital and laboratory information systems to manage specimens and report data, ensuring all results are communicated effectively.

To be successful, you must prioritize the secure handling of medical supplies, including needles and syringes, while maintaining strict adherence to hospital policies and fulfilling additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Lab Assistant/phlebotomist in an acute care hospital. One (1) year experience preferred.

• Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory terminology, aseptic technique, laboratory tests and specimen handling and blood collection techniques as demonstrated by CAP required competency assessment and organizational requirements.

• California CPT-1 or CPT-2 or certification or other California state certification permitting phlebotomy.

Pay Range

$34.08 - $38.45 /hour
