Help Desk Support Specialist

Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Help Desk Support Specialist to join a growing IT support team in a corporate environment. This role will provide hands-on technical support to end users, troubleshoot a variety of hardware and software issues, and ensure a high level of customer service across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for desktop, laptop, and end-user technology issues.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Windows operating system and Microsoft 365-related problems.

  • Support user account administration, password resets, and access-related requests.

  • Manage and prioritize tickets in a service desk or ITSM platform.

  • Assist with hardware deployments, device setup, imaging, and troubleshooting.

  • Support remote access technologies, authentication issues, and endpoint management solutions.

  • Participate in employee onboarding and offboarding activities.

  • Document incidents, resolutions, and support activities accurately.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams on system upgrades, deployments, and ongoing support initiatives.

  • Deliver excellent customer service while supporting both technical and non-technical users.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of help desk, service desk, or desktop support experience within an enterprise environment.

  • Strong troubleshooting experience with Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.

  • Experience with Active Directory user administration.

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and incident management processes.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting endpoint management solutions and mobile device management tools.

  • Exposure to virtual desktop environments, VPN support, and multi-factor authentication.

  • Experience with laptop imaging, deployments, and hardware troubleshooting.

  • Experience supporting large corporate user populations.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who takes ownership of issues from initial intake through resolution. They should be comfortable supporting a broad range of end-user technologies while maintaining a customer-focused approach in a professional corporate environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
