Redwood Farms is seeking a bilingual (Spanish and English) Human Resources Manager in Estherville, IA! This person will act as the onsite HR resource for the facility and lead hiring, retention, community activities, and employee initiatives with support from management and a Corporate HR Team. Hiring & Onboarding Benefits & Payroll Support Management & Employee Support

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Protect human resources operations by keeping information confidential

Assess staffing needs and communicate hiring priorities to Corporate HR.

Screen applications, set up and conduct interviews, and extend job offers to qualified candidates

Lead candidates through various pre-employment steps including the I-9, E-Verify, background check, and drug screen

Lead site-wide new hire onboarding, ensuring all paperwork and tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Direct interviews, quarterly conversations, and exit interviews

Serve as on-site HR expert for all employees at the complex, ensuring on-site compliance with federal and state employment laws (OSHA, FMLA, ADA, PFMLA).

Lead site-wide benefits orientation and online enrollment

Serve as on-site HR resource for all employees at the complex, with direction and support from Corporate HR Staff

Translate individual conversations and larger employee meetings and announcements; confirm translations of written documents, as requested

Work with Corporate payroll and onsite supervisors/managers to ensure accurate employee time, wages, leave schedules, etc.

Analyze turnover, staffing, and absenteeism data; develop and execute retention strategies in coordination with Corporate HR

Conduct investigations into employee complaints and policy violations; recommend and implement corrective action in partnership with Corporate HR and legal

Identify and follow through with HR improvement projects and initiatives

Help coordinate employee meals, celebrations, and donation activities

Develop and participate in community-based engagements and outreach activities, including recruiting

Assist Safety Trainer with accident/injury reporting, as needed

Maintain regular and predictable on-site attendance

Travel less than 10%, annually

Situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in human resources; or comparable education and/or experience

5+ years of human resources experience, especially in full scope hiring and onboarding

Bilingual (English & Spanish), required

Ability to communicate professionally and strategically with managers, directors, or other stakeholders verbally or in writing

Working knowledge of relevant employment legislation

Proficient with technology and the Microsoft Office Suite; Experience with the use of an HRIS and ATS

High level of organization, proficiency, accuracy, discretion, and confidentiality

Experience in a high-volume, multi-location environment, preferred

Strong sense of initiative and independent problem-solving with the ability to manage time and deadlines with little supervision

Ability to attain and/or maintain a standard driver’s license

Physical Requirements

Perform desk work (sitting or standing) for up to 100% of workday

Repetitively use wrist, hand, and/or fingers
