About the Role We're looking for an Associate People Business Partner to join our People team in New York. This entry-level role provides foundational support in talent management and people strategy, working under the guidance of our Director, People Business Partner, as well as collaborating with senior PBPs across the team. You'll develop core HR competencies while supporting business leaders and their teams with stakeholder partnership, employee relations, talent planning, and strategic people initiatives. This role is hands-on, structured, and designed to give you real experience across the full scope of people business partnering while working in a supportive environment where learning and growth are prioritized.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build stakeholder relationships with assigned business units

  • Develop understanding of assigned business unit's strategy and identify people/talent implications

  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on people topics including performance management, career development, feedback, and navigating complex conversations

  • Assist in managing employee relations issues, including scheduling, documentation, and coordination with senior HR team members on conflict resolution and disciplinary matters

  • Assist in providing insights on workforce planning, org structure, and succession planning with guidance from senior team

  • Assist managers with questions regarding company policies and procedures

  • Support the execution of company-wide talent programs like annual talent assessments and compensation reviews

  • Own and deliver smaller projects from conception through execution (e.g., engagement initiatives, team redesigns, onboarding program improvements)

  • Prepare basic HR reports and documentation as assigned.

  • Support the development and distribution of internal HR communications and announcements

  • Attend and contribute to team training, meetings, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 1-2 years in HR or related roles, with fundamental understanding of HR principles and practices

  • Knowledge of core HR functions (onboarding, compliance, employee relations basics).

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and HRIS systems

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability and willingness to learn from feedback and grow in the role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a fast-growing or rapidly scaling company.

  • Familiarity with HR best practices and current employment law trends.

  • Background in recruiting, employee relations, people operations, or organizational development

  • Exposure to employee engagement programs or workplace culture initiatives.

  • Experience supporting non-exempt or hourly employee populations.

  • SHRM-CP certification (or commitment to pursuing certification).

Travel: Up to 20% travel required to warehouse locations and company offsites as needed.
