Full job description

Our client, Manufacturing is seeking a Shift Production Supervisor - Rolling Mill to join their team. As a Shift Production Supervisor - Rolling Mill, you will be part of the Rolling Mill operations team supporting shift production and quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to coordinate complex rolling mill processes to keep production running at the highest efficiency.

Job Title: Shift Production Supervisor - Rolling Mill

Location: Beaumont, Texas

Pay Range: 100k - 110k, plus bonus program

What's the Job?

  • Under the guidance of the Rolling Mill Superintendent, help drive maximum production at the lowest cost in accordance with established schedules.

  • Supervise and coordinate an assigned shift workforce engaged in steel mill rolling operations, including warehousing, reheating, and reducing steel billets into bar mill products such as concrete reinforcing steel bars.

  • Assign work to personnel based on operational sequence and labor skills using schedules, orders, and shift instructions.

  • Coordinate with the preceding and succeeding shift leadership and the Rolling Mill Maintenance Supervisor on rolling mill condition, repairs, maintenance, changeovers, and key operational updates.

  • Ensure adequate personnel, materials, supplies, tools, and equipment are available for assigned shift work; consult with production control and supervisory teams on billet availability, heat identification, rolling schedules, and quality control issues.

What's Needed?

  • 4-year degree; degree is a big plus.

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing methods and techniques involving heavy mill machinery and related equipment.

  • Familiarity with properties of metals related to ASTM specifications for bar mill products.

  • Ability to assist with diagnosis of breakdown problems and support maintenance repairs.

  • Previous qualifying experience on related work or lesser jobs of five years with practical training in steel mill rolling and finishing operations, including some supervisory experience.
