Regular Salaried Full-Time

Vernon, NY, US

Salary Range: $62,353.20 To $67,000.00 Annually

Job Description summary:

Responsible for operations coordination and supervision of Mutuels department in accordance with the operational policies and procedures of the company and the NYS Gaming Commission

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Provide excellent guest service to both internal and external guests.

  • Actively supports the company culture of creating a fun and entertaining experience for internal and external guests.

  • Possess the ability to create operating and capital budgets along with the ability to adhere to those budgets.

  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels in the department, by interviewing, selecting, training, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and terminating Associates, as needed.

  • Responsible for creating, executing, and budgeting for seasonal promotions

  • Coordinate’s investigations into the resolution of variances to ensure compliance with company policies and Associate integrity levels.

  • Responsible for the daily operations of simulcast and mutuels.

  • Responsible for the schedules of the mutuel tellers.

  • Responsible for communication with United Tote as well as other vendors.

  • Point of contact for all union disputes.

  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required. Two to three years supervisory/management experience required, including knowledge of horse racing, mutuels department and simulcast contract preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises the Mutuel/Simulcast Staff. Carries out the supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
