Summary

This National Guard position is for a HR OFFICER (MIL), Position Description Number T5900100 and is part of the NJ 108th FSS, National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to manage, coordinate, direct, and oversee work through subordinate supervisors for all functional areas of the Military Personnel Flight for the wing and supported units and to exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities

Duties

As a HR OFFICER (MIL), GS-0201-12, you will: Directs and monitors military human resources services in the personal affairs functions including military recognition programs, health, dental, and family insurance programs. Directs military education and training activities and administers the following programs: job qualification training (JQT), formal school training, professional military education (PME), ancillary training, and the USAF Extension Course Institute (ECI) training. Ensures preparation of accurate and timely input to Status of Resources and Training System (SORTS) and Air Expeditionary Force (AEF) Reporting Tool (ART) reporting activities for the assigned deployable personnel team(s). Ensures proper AFSC classification of all military personnel and final approval for classification actions at base level are accurate. Ensures military human resources activities are focused on readiness and effective utilization. Ensures mobilization and deployment readiness of section personnel and equipment. performs other duties as assigned Requirements

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:Must have the General Experience, Education or Knowledge in the following: Human Resource knowledge gained through civilian and/or military technical training schools within the human resources business programs. Understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience, Education or Training: Personnel and manpower core competencies: Organization Structure, Requirement Determination, Program Allocation and Control, and/or Performance Improvement. Executing personnel programs and Human Resources Information Systems, as applicable to the specific position and its position description. Knowledge and understanding of the personnel and manpower core competencies: Organization Structure; Requirements Determination;Program Allocation and Control; and, Performance Improvement. Have a working knowledge of organizational structures; manpower standards; manpower resources; manpower data systems; or, commercial services to include strategic sourcing. Performing personnel program requirements that involve advising supervisors and managers; and, experienced in completing accession planning and processing; classification and position management; and, civilian promotions. Skilled in applying program policies, directives, publications, and training manuals. Knowledgeable on allocating manpower resource budgets or execution procedures. Experienced in performance management and productivity programs; or, advising on process improvement, best practices, and performance techniques.
