Summary

As an IT Specialist (Infrastructure), you will provide a full range of IT services and support for a variety of difficult and complex assignments or projects including those involving architecting, designing, developing, and implementing complex IT systems, systems administration, information security, operating systems, systems analysis, planning, and collaboration support requirements.

Duties

As a Information Technology Specialist (Infrastructure), you will Design and oversee the implementation of complex IT systems in alignment with the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values. Optimizes the functionality of Infrastructure services while ensuring compliance, security, high availability, and seamless system upgrades. Manages complex information security operations for mission-critical and mission-essential enterprise systems and network to ensure, protect, and restore IT systems, services, and capabilities for core services. Manages/oversees large, difficult projects that require the solution of complicated issues across cross functional teams. Requirements

Security clearance and associated requirements - High Risk Shift work and emergency overtime may be required. A qualified candidate's 2-pg resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-12). Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting at least 2 of the following: Design, deploy, and/or manage large-scale highly available enterprise IT environments for the purpose of infrastructure modernization strategies, managing hardware/software lifecycles, capacity forecasting, and/or performance optimization. Lead end-to-end administration of enterprise operating systems (i.e. Windows Server, desktop environments), directory services (i.e. Active Directory, Entra, identity and access management), enterprise storage systems (i.e. SAN, HCI, vSAN) and/or virtualization platforms (i.e. VMware, Citrix). Implement and/or enforce principles/directives/standards and/or components for Zero Trust (i.e. EO 14028, PIV, MFA, CBA), Federal or energy sector requirements (i.e. FISMA, BODs, SCuBA baselines, WECC, NERC, CIP, CVA). Time-in-Grade: Current career or career-conditional GS employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional GS employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current career or career-conditional federal employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
