Description

$62,358.40 - $71, 988.80 Annually

The Assistant Director of Community Supports provides leadership and oversight of Community Habilitation, Self Direction, and Family Support Services. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of services and adherence to all OPWDD, Medicaid, and agency requirements. Responsibilities include program development, fiscal management, quality improvement, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, and the promotion of person-centered supports that foster community inclusion, independence, and meaningful outcomes for individuals and families receiving services.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of Community Habilitation, Self Direction, and Family Support Services to ensure high-quality, person-centered supports and services.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OPWDD, Medicaid, agency, and regulatory requirements.

  • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, outcomes, and operational effectiveness.

  • Oversee program operations, utilization, budgets, and fiscal performance to meet departmental and organizational goals.

  • Supervise, coach, and develop assigned staff; promote a positive work environment that supports engagement, accountability, and professional growth.

  • Monitor documentation, service plans, expenditures, billing, and program records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with individuals receiving services, families, care coordinators, community providers, funding agencies, and internal departments to support coordinated service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Psychology, Sociology or other Human Services related field. Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Must have at least 3-years’ related experience.

  • At least 3-years’ supervisory experience.

  • Must meet OPWDD QIDP certification requirements.

  • Must meet and maintain OPWDD broker training and certification requirements.

  • Must have working knowledge of community resources available and the ability to complete necessary documentation accurately and completely.

  • Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.
