Job Description

We’re seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to support the launch and growth of a switchgear manufacturing operation in Prince George, VA. This is not a product design role. The focus is on supporting switchgear, control panels, E-Houses, and power distribution equipment through manufacturing, testing, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience working with industrial electrical equipment and can confidently read schematics, solve electrical problems, support manufacturing teams, and make practical engineering recommendations with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities Support manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning of switchgear, control panels, and power distribution equipment. Read and troubleshoot electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, one-lines, and equipment layouts. Identify and resolve electrical, manufacturing, quality, and installation issues. Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions. Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Operations, and leadership teams. Serve as a key technical resource for the facility and help establish best practices as the operation grows.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. 5+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Power Systems, Industrial Equipment, or Field Engineering. Experience with at least one of the following: Switchgear Medium- or high-voltage systems Control panels Power distribution equipment E-Houses/modular electrical systems Strong schematic interpretation and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience supporting equipment in manufacturing, industrial, construction, installation, or field environments. Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions. Switchgear manufacturing or power distribution systems. Field installation, startup, commissioning, or testing. Manufacturing-floor support for complex electrical equipment. Failure investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience launching new manufacturing operations or production lines.
