Position: LTS Occupational Therapist (Posting number 2627-3898)

Location: Schlegel Road Elementary School

Start Date: November 5, 2026 - January 4, 2027

Requirements: Must have NYS license as an Occupational Therapist

We strongly welcome candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Exemplify WCSD vision, Core Beliefs, and Essential Skills

  • Experience working with school-aged children in a school setting

Responsibilities:

  • Perform occupational therapy procedures upon the written prescription or referral from a physician, utilizing an exercise or creative activity treatment program designed and/or adapted to correct or improve functional ability.

  • Evaluates the degree of function and disability of students unless contraindicated by the supervising therapist's professional judgment or a physician's prescription.

  • Develops a treatment plan based upon findings, short and long-term goals and in accordance with a physician's diagnosis, prescription or referral.

  • Maintains program records including, but not limited to, the service budget, statistical reports of the frequency and types of treatment and number of students treated.

  • Participates in research activities and the development of new treatment programs and techniques in conjunction with other staff and physicians.

  • Participates and assists in the development of educational programs and instructs in-service education programs.

Salary: Salary will be determined at the time of employment and determined by the WTA contract as well as education, and experience.
