Job Description A Controls Engineer Lead is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex automation control systems within a facility, leading a team of engineers to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet technical specifications, often including tasks like system architecture development, programming PLCs, configuring HMIs, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with other engineering disciplines to integrate systems across a plant or operation.

Controls Engineer Lead This role will be responsible for owning the platform control software that translates motion planner trajectories to drive-by-wire commands. Leading a team of 5 Control Software Engineers. Qualifications On-site role! Permanent Resident Status or U.S. Citizens only, please!

Required education & experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Control Systems, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Controls Systems Engineering.

  • Experience in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink. =

  • Experience in control theory and control systems design

  • Experience with vehicle dynamics and actuation systems

  • Robotics experience, preferably in lower level path planning (like pure pursuit or something similar)

  • Understanding of vehicle dynamics

  • Experience implementing PID controllers or similar types of controllers

  • Leadership experience

Preferred experience:

  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning techniques for control systems.

  • Experience with real-world controls experience in automotive or aerospace industries
