Elayn Hunt Correctional Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate RN Advanced Practice to join our clinical team. This role provides advanced nursing care to an adult correctional population, ensuring high-quality medical services within a secure and supportive environment. The ideal candidate is a collaborative healthcare professional who demonstrates sound clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or a temporary permit.
NOTE:
The temporary APRN permit allows an APRN applicant to work in a limited capacity for up to 120 days while awaiting review for full APRN licensure by the nursing board. An APRN applicant cannot medically diagnose or medically manage patients until they are licensed and have prescriptive authority. If the APRN license is not received within the 120-day period and the permit expires, the employee must be removed from the position.

Performing advanced nursing assessments and managing treatment plans for individuals with acute and chronic medical needs

Delivering primary and preventive healthcare services following established clinical guidelines

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and support overall facility operations

Maintaining accurate medical documentation and adhering to all regulatory, safety, and ethical standards

Contributing to a respectful, professional, and mission-driven healthcare environment
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE

Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.

An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.

This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
Compensation: This position has aSpecial Entrance Rate (SER)of $54.87 per hour.
This position also offers premium pay: A rate of$5.00 per hour for each hour worked, in addition to regular pay.
