Job Title: Deburrer Job Description

The deburrer is responsible for performing deburring and finishing operations on metal parts after machining. This role requires the use of hand tools, pneumatic grinders, and small power tools to smooth surfaces, ensuring the removal of small imperfections known as burrs. These burrs, if not removed, can compromise the safety, functionality, and assembly fit of the parts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform deburring and finishing operations on metal parts after machining.

  • Use hand tools, pneumatic grinders, and small power tools to smooth surfaces.

  • Inspect parts visually to verify compliance with specifications.

  • Follow blueprints and work instructions to ensure accuracy.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to company safety policies.

  • Communicate with machinists and quality inspectors to resolve issues promptly.

Essential Skills

  • Deburring, polishing, grinding, metal finishing, buffing.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in using measuring tools and conducting inspections.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Work Environment

Work a consistent 1st shift from 6am to 2:30pm, totaling 40 hours per week, with the potential for overtime as needed. Join a family-owned business established in 1987, located in a 130,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Union, Illinois. Be part of a team of approximately 140 employees, operating in a state-of-the-art environment equipped with over 90 pieces of manufacturing equipment. The facility supports flexible machining systems, allowing efficient production for both small and large orders. The company caters to diverse markets such as Hydraulics, Agriculture, Medical, Construction, and Defense, and holds multiple federal government registrations and certifications.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodstock, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
