Full job description
Job Title: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Leetsdale, PA
Type: Direct Hire
Work Model: Onsite – onsite
Hours: 40.0
Responsibilities
-
Supports resolution of technical manufacturing issues, including those spanning cross-functional business processes.

Implements Quality Control requirements in coordination with the Quality team.
-
Documents and submits product improvement recommendations as appropriate.
-
Improves product quality and lowers manufacturing costs by maximizing efficiency and developing optimal procedures using 6S and lean methodologies.

Confirms new products can be manufactured cost-effectively prior to market launch.

Develops and maintains SOPs and work instructions for manufacturing processes per established formats.

Identifies strategic cost reductions that don't create offsetting cost increases elsewhere.

Develops and maintains procedures ensuring product routings are complete, accurate, and reflect lean thinking, including appropriate use of time studies.

Reduces existing manufacturing lead times.

Reduces manufacturing lot sizes to lower overall inventory levels.
-
Minimizes materials movement within manufacturing processes.
-
Coordinates with other company facilities to align on manufacturing best practices.

Provides technical support as needed.

Develops databases, software applications, and other systems to measure key manufacturing performance metrics, define improvement strategies, and sustain gains.

Directs outside vendors in designing and manufacturing fixtures for machining and assembly operations.

Troubleshoots equipment and process issues as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
-
Bachelor's degree in engineering required; BSME or BSIE preferred.
-
7+ years of progressively responsible manufacturing leadership experience, or equivalent education/experience, with a strong record of manufacturing operational improvements.

Experience in fluid power or a related industry preferred.
-
ERP experience preferred; SAP experience strongly preferred.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills required.

Ability to schedule and facilitate issue-related meetings required.
