Power BI Business Analyst

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Business Analyst to support a municipal Finance and Administrative Services organization in Arizona. This individual will act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, helping improve business processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency across multiple city departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong business analysis experience, process improvement expertise, and hands-on reporting/dashboard development experience utilizing Power BI.

Responsibilities: Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and identify process improvement opportunities. Document business processes, workflows, and technical requirements. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI and other reporting tools. Analyze data from multiple systems to provide actionable insights and support decision-making. Serve as a liaison between business teams, IT, and vendors to support system enhancements and reporting initiatives. Support testing, training, process improvement, and continuous improvement efforts across departments.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of Business Analyst experience Experience gathering requirements, documenting processes, and supporting technology initiatives Strong experience with Power BI Experience with process mapping, workflow analysis, and testing methodologies Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field Experience supporting local government, municipal, utility, or public-sector organizations Experience with Finance, Customer Service, Utility Billing, Administrative Services, or ERP environments Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, Lean initiatives, or process optimization programs Familiarity with Munis, SQL databases, and enterprise reporting solutions Experience building executive-level dashboards and performance scorecards
