Position Description & Qualifications

Looking for a Part-time, remote Training Specialist opportunity at a place you can make a difference every day? Discover your place in our world! Bring your expertise in computer systems instruction and instructional design and have an impact on the training operations of our federal government customer.

As a Training Specialist, you will:

  • Support the Information Systems and Technology Services department of a government agency

  • Provide technical documentation and training for hardware and software used by agency staff

  • Design, develop, and update agency-specific learning content

  • Develop and update user guides, handouts, related quick reference guides and job aides

  • Provide instruction virtually and/or deliver learning programs related to applications used by the Agency, including AgilQuest, GovTA, SharePoint, WebTA, VDI, MS Office Suite, Office365, Zoom and more

Work hours will be M-F between 8:00am - 5:00pm Eastern Time. Expected schedule to be approximately 5 hours daily, 5 days per week for an initial 6-8 weeks. Thereafter, the role will shift to an on-call capacity, providing support as required.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree

  • 5 years of work experience in the following:

  • Computer systems instruction and instructional design

  • Applying formal instructional design methodologies to curriculum development tasks

  • Variety of instructional technologies to facilitate learning

  • Experience with MS SharePoint, MS Office Suite, Office365, MS Teams, Adobe Acrobat Pro

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and customer relations skills

  • Ability to travel 10% as needed

Additional desired qualifications:

  • Snagit, Snipping Tool, Adobe Connect, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Captivate, and Power BI

  • Instructional Systems Design (ISD) experience

Salary range: The range for this position can be found at the top of this posting. This range is provided as a general guideline and represents a good faith estimate across all experience levels. For roles available in multiple states, the range may vary to reflect differences in local labor markets. In addition to base salary, eligible positions may include other forms of compensation such as annual bonuses or long-term incentive opportunities.
