Full job description

Kadiak, LLC., a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Tribal Court Training Project Manager to join our team in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a part-time/as needed position supporting Kadiak, LLC and our government customer and will report to the Tribal Court Project Manager.

In support of the U.S. Department of Interior (DOI), Bureau of Indian Affairs, Tribal Justice Support Directive, this position will be the Project Manager for training and technical support for tribal courts as designated in the contract. The PM will also lead training and technical assistance directly supporting tribal governments and courts.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work directly with the Tribal Court Project Manager to implement goals and objectives of projects.

  • Oversee and lead the training and technical assistance contracts and agreements.

  • Overview project goals and ensure project goals are achievable.

  • Liaise with project lead and other project managers to maintain project schedule and efficacy.

  • Assist with developing materials and other items necessary for completing project goals.

  • Review project implementation and gather data on project execution.

  • Complete reporting requirements for contract and ensure deadlines are met.

  • Frequent travel to tribal communities.

  • Work closely with Operations Assistant to schedule travel.

  • Court document review.

  • Budgeting.

  • Provide interface with government project stakeholders.

  • Assist when necessary and requested by Tribal Courts Project Manager.

Education, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts in related field, or equivalent experience may be substituted for required education.

  • Industry-specific certificates and licenses may be provided in lieu of degree.

  • 5 years’ experience working with Tribal Courts and/or Indian law and policy, with preference related to Clerk of Court/Tribal Court Administrator experience.

  • Proof of successful past performance in working with Tribes and/or Tribal Courts.

  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively to ensure successful project execution.

  • Working knowledge of Alaska Native and American Indian Tribes, tribal cultures, and tribal communication etiquette.

  • Expert-level experience with computer operating systems, such as Microsoft and MacOS.

  • Proven ability to generate and deliver reports that provide useful insight into project details.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring projects proceed efficiently and effectively.

Position Requirements:

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Work independently and set priorities, act effectively and efficiently under pressure.

  • Shall have significant experience in working with tribal governments and ability to provide constructive feedback to tribal courts and tribal governments regarding difficult situations which arise in the tribal court arena.

  • Shall have a cultural awareness of tribal communities in Alaska and the lower 48.

  • Valid driver’s license.
