Sr. Proofpoint Engineer

Job Description

A client is looking to identify a Proofpoint Engineer. This role will be responsible for the configuration, optimization, troubleshooting, and ongoing operation of the Proofpoint email security environment. The ideal candidate is a deeply technical, hands-on engineer who understands not only Proofpoint, but the broader email ecosystem including mail flow, Microsoft 365/Exchange Online, authentication protocols, threat detection, and email-related incident response.

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of IT Systems and Security Experience 5+ years of experience managing Proofpoint products (PoD) Advanced Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of all related email security escalations Experience with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, including authentication failures and legitimate third-party senders Experience with Proofpoint Targeted Attack Protection (TAP), Threat Response/Auto-Pull, Email Protection, URL Defense, Attachment Defense, or related Proofpoint capabilities. Experience supporting large-scale Microsoft 365 or email migrations. Experience integrating Proofpoint with SIEM/SOAR platforms
