Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Job Description

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing on-site quality inspections to ensure construction activities comply with approved engineering drawings, project specifications, and applicable safety and quality standards. This role supports utility-scale solar and energy construction projects by identifying deficiencies early, documenting findings, and working closely with field teams to maintain quality, schedule, and project warranty requirements. This position works full-time on a project site through completion and serves as a daily point of contact for quality-related coordination with field leadership and client representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site quality control inspections for electrical, civil, and mechanical scopes of work.

  • Verify work is installed per approved drawings, specifications, and engineering standards.

  • Generate and manage punch lists to document deficiencies and required corrective actions.

  • Conduct internal inspections following trade self-checks and prior to client walkthroughs.

  • Support execution of the project Quality Management Plan (QMP).

  • Protect project warranty by identifying and escalating quality issues early.

  • Document inspection results, deficiencies, and corrective actions.

  • Maintain quality records, inspection logs, and calibration documentation.

  • Update and distribute quality tracking reports to the project team.

  • Upload required documentation to client or project management systems.

  • Follow all site safety policies and procedures.

  • Identify and report safety concerns observed during inspections.

  • Stop work when necessary for safety or quality concerns.

  • Support site safety initiatives and coordination with safety personnel.

  • Work closely with field engineers, superintendents, project managers, and commissioning teams.

  • Participate in daily planning and coordination meetings.

  • Support client walkthroughs and inspections as required.

  • Communicate quality findings clearly and professionally to field teams and leadership.

Essential Skills

  • Experience performing quality control or construction inspections in solar, electrical, or heavy construction environments.

  • Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and inspection processes.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document findings clearly.

  • Ability to work independently in a field environment with limited supervision.

  • Comfortable working full-time on active construction sites.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Utility-scale solar project experience.

  • Electrical construction or inspection Experience.

  • OSHA 30 certification (preferred).

  • Experience using construction documentation platforms (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office).

  • Familiarity with punch list management and quality tracking tools.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $80000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
