Hybrid: 2 days per week in office

Job Summary: Under direction of the State Prevention Specialist in the Office of Behavioral Health Prevention, the primary role of the Regional Prevention Specialist (RPS) is to manage funding for procuring prevention services at the regional and community level. This is done by supervising regional prevention services/programs through the monitoring of prevention contracting contract deliverables, payments, reporting, and evaluations. This position will also provide technical assistance to funded providers concerning prevention and will assist in the development of the community prevention infrastructure.

Other duties will include:

Assisting in the development of regional prevention contracts and contract amendments. Identifying, organizing, and disseminating information, of funding and prevention research, and training opportunities. Promoting prevention services to enhance the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities in the region and statewide through a variety of strategies and activities.

Providing technical assistance and training to public and private organizations engaged in or interested in prevention activities, coordinating prevention efforts with existing prevention coalitions in the region. Establishing and maintaining effective communication and cooperative working relationships with other regional staff, state staff, other agencies, community-based organizations, and local groups and providers. Providing training and technical assistance to prevention providers on state web-based reporting systems. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience performing work related to area of assignment; or seven (7) years of experience performing work related to area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Healthcare Prgm Consultant 1 (HCP090) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require licensure.
