Job Description

To provide operational, strategic, financial leadership and effective management of Radiology and Sedation services across hospital campuses and neighborhood locations. Works in partnership with the Vice President and Medical Directors to ensure a strategically focused service line and to ensure efficient delivery of high quality patient care to children and adolescents. To proactively implement efforts that ensures delivery of safe patient care and services and to promote a safe environment at Children's

Experience 10+ years of management/administrative experience in a progressive healthcare setting required; or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Previously demonstrated experience in providing appropriate leadership for self-directed work teams

Preferred Qualifications Clinical licensure in a related field Masters degree in business, public health, or other healthcare-related field and Certified Radiology Administrator

Education Bachelors degree in Radiology, Nursing, or other healthcare-related field

Job Responsibilities Develops, translates, and/or prioritizes overall system goals and strategies for radiology and sedation services. Establishes system-wide standards, processes, and measures, and otherwise drives consistent, system-wide service line approach across all facilities. Establishes and manages the quality program. Accountable for the clinical and business operations of the service line. Facilitates integration and coordination of care delivery throughout the service line, including developing service line vision, developing strategic business and marketing plans, implementing strategic initiatives, operations, marketing, and communications, new product/service development and implementation, integration with system planning, managed care, finance, marketing, community outreach, foundation, and clinical operations, creation and maintenance of physician relationships and involvement in service line activities, and effective and efficient allocation of resources. Establishes, coordinates, and maintains a clinical operation, which promotes and supports a multi-disciplinary collaborative practice, a participative teamwork environment, innovation, fiscal accountability, strategic planning and development, outcome-focused goal setting, adequate and effective resource allocation, community involvement, and customer orientation and satisfaction throughout the system. Partners with the service line leaders to ensure integration and consistency of clinical and business processes; to cross-train and share resources as appropriate; to evaluate and implement customer service and staff retention strategies; and to oversee and guide shared governance initiatives. Partners with medical directors and other physician leaders to drive clinical operational excellence, program development, quality, marketing, education and research initiatives. Responsible for budgetary/financial management of the radiology and sedation service line. Seeks and implements ways to enhance the financial status of the service line. Leads the radiology information systems team which provides 24/7 support to all CHOA clinicians dependent on radiology images and reports for timely patient management. Responsible for ongoing IT strategy, policies and procedures, purchases and implementations of new systems and upgrades as well as providing support to system IT for all system IT projects involving radiology systems. Creates and nurtures excellent and highly credible intra- and interdepartmental relationships with particular emphasis on consistent, superior service. Leads all support services for Radiology and Sedation services such as scheduling and the image libraries. Develops, implements, and evaluates programs to promote the recruitment, retention, professional development, and continuing education of all members of the service line. Responsible for the performance evaluation process for director’s staff. Ensures development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services and compliance with standards of The Joint Commission, the American College of Radiology, the State of Georgia and all other relevant accreditation agencies. Provides overall leadership of radiology and sedation services and delivers strategic results including high quality patient care and overall excellence, operating margins/financial targets, customer satisfaction scores, new service/business development, and employee retention and engagement.
