Position Overview

Senior Employee Relations Partner is critical in supporting managers and leaders to maintain a fair,harmonious workplace that supports organizational goals.Senior ER Partner will have current employment law knowledge and will manage and deliver acaseload of employee relations cases. In addition to upskilling managers on the management ofcases and support on avoiding conduct issues. The Senior ER Partner is an experiencedprofessional who requires minimal supervision or support.

Job Description

What You’ll Do

Employee Relations

  • Manage and deliver a case load of employee relations cases, including investigations,disciplinary, grievance, capability, appeals, leave of absence and absence managementfrom the start of process through to conclusion

  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers providing clear and commercially focused advicealigned with employment law.

  • Ensure consistent application of ER policies and procedures balancing business needswith fair outcomes.

  • Mediate and facilitate discussions between employees and management to resolvedisputes and improve relationships.

  • Maintain records of employee relations activity and provide reports to seniormanagement.

  • Identifying trends and themes to support proactive initiatives and continuous improvement.

Employee Engagement

  • Upskill managers ensuring they understand the proactive role they can take to reduce ERissues.Monitor trends and feedback to HRBPs.

  • USLiaise with HLUS Legal and Compliance teams to ensure awareness of policy updatesand best practice.

Continuous improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement of ER practices and processes

  • Ensure up to date employment law knowledge

  • Collaborate on wider P&C projects

Knowledge and Skills

  • Skilled communicator with excellent knowledge of employment law

  • Working across the site with all levels of leaders and managers to correctly manage all employee related issues

  • Employee relations can be complex and therefore must have good problem solving skills and the ability to prioritisecompeting demands.

Basic Requirement / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or specialist HR qualification

  • 7 – 10 years experience of working on employee relationsissues.

  • Current knowledge of employment law and emerging trends

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolutionskills.

  • Deep knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

  • Problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Empathy and strong interpersonal skills to build rapport withall levels of the organization.

  • Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities andmaintain detailed records.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. Yes 60 frequency/minutes

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. Yes 60 frequency/minutes

  • Ability to conduct activities using repetitive motions that include wrists, hands and/or fingers. Yes

  • Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools. Yes
