Master Trainer – Personal Training & Business Development
GYMGUYZ Austin
Compensation: $35–$45 per private/semi-private session + $55 group classes + commissions + 10 guaranteed Business Development hours/week at $20/hour
Career Track: Part-Time → Full-Time with Benefits
Build More Than a Client List. Build a Career.
GYMGUYZ Austin is looking for an experienced personal trainer who wants more than a few clients on the side. We want someone who sees GYMGUYZ as a primary professional opportunity and wants to grow with us.
This role combines private training, Initial Assessments, consultative sales, community outreach, and eventually trainer mentorship. It is designed to grow into a full-time position.
How You’re Paid
-
$35 – Private Training
-
$45 – Semi-Private Training
-
$55 – Standard Group Class
-
$35 – Initial Assessment
-
5% commission on qualifying new client sales
-
2% commission on qualifying renewals
-
2% commission on qualifying sales from leads you personally generate
-
10 guaranteed Business Development hours/week at $20/hour
Business Development We invest 10 paid hours each week in helping you grow GYMGUYZ Austin and your future client base. Work may include community outreach, local business visits, referral development, door-hanger campaigns, events, neighborhood marketing, and previous-lead follow-up.
You’ll initially coordinate these hours closely with the Owner. As you prove yourself, we want you to become increasingly self-directed: identify opportunities, execute a plan, report results, and improve with coaching.
Own the Assessment Process You will be our first-line trainer for new client Initial Assessments. After training and mentorship, you’ll own the process: build rapport, understand goals, conduct the assessment, recommend a solution, explain pricing, handle objections, ask for the sale, and get the client started.
Schedule We’ll establish a consistent weekly availability schedule together. Because you’ll be our primary Assessment Trainer, you must maintain:
-
Two weekday evening assessment windows
-
Regular Saturday assessment availability
If an available time has not been booked approximately one week in advance, you may make other commitments during that unbooked time.
We expect this role to grow toward approximately 10–15 recurring training sessions, 2–3 assessments, and 10 Business Development hours per week.
Who We’re Looking For We prioritize personality, sales ability, reliability, and professional presence over having the longest training résumé.
You should be able to walk into a client’s home and build trust, walk into a local business and confidently introduce GYMGUYZ, listen to what a prospect needs, and comfortably ask for the business.
Requirements
-
2+ years of professional personal-training experience
-
Meaningful private 1:1 training experience
-
Current GYMGUYZ-approved accredited CPT certification
-
Current CPR certification
-
Previous sales experience
-
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license
-
Ability to travel throughout the Austin area
-
Consistent agreed-upon weekly availability
-
Central Austin residence strongly preferred
Path to Full-Time Employees averaging 32+ working hours per week for three consecutive months transition to full-time status under company policy.
Current full-time benefits include company-sponsored health insurance with a $250/month employer contribution toward the employee’s selected plan and 401(k) eligibility after one year.
If you want to train clients, build your sales skills, take on responsibility, and help grow a local fitness business, we’d like to meet you.
