Our client seeks a technology-focused Digital Product Owner to support financial loan and debt platform initiatives. The role emphasizes translating business requirements into technical deliverables, writing detailed user stories, managing testing, and partnering with engineering to deliver modernization projects. The position requires close collaboration with stakeholders, developers, and operations to define, document, test, and deliver solutions that maximize business value.

This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $75.00 to $85.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

  • Gather and define business and technical requirements directly from business stakeholders.

  • Create detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation.

  • Prioritize work within Jira and Confluence environments.

  • Partner closely with engineering teams to deliver technology solutions.

  • Perform hands-on testing of completed functionality and coordinate broader testing efforts.

  • Act as the bridge between business operations and technology teams.

  • Drive delivery of modernization and technology initiatives.

  • Define long-term product roadmaps, manage the backlog, and align delivery to corporate KPIs, integrating AI and automation where beneficial.

  • Lead elicitation, analysis, and mapping of complex enterprise requirements into actionable specifications.

  • Evaluate legacy workflows, identify gaps, and design optimized target operating models.

  • Author high-quality documentation and structured training materials for user adoption.

  • Serve as the liaison between clients, Operations, and Engineering.

  • Champion Agile/Scrum standards, ensuring story health, precise acceptance criteria, and optimal velocity.

Experience Requirements:

  • Digital/Product Owner experience supporting technology products.

  • Background in software engineering, development, platform engineering, or technical business analysis.

  • Experience translating complex business processes into technical requirements.

  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Power BI, Snowflake, and working knowledge of SQL.

  • Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria with strong UAT ownership.

  • Ability to work directly with clients and operational stakeholders.

  • Comfort discussing system architecture, data flows, SQL, databases, integrations, and technology solutions.

  • Experience partnering closely with developers and engineering teams.

  • Government or public sector experience preferred.

  • Mortgage, fixed-income, or Ginnie Mae/Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac exposure preferred.

  • Understanding of AI platforms, AI infrastructure, automation, or modernization initiatives preferred.

  • 5-10+ years of professional experience with advanced knowledge of Agile/Scrum.

  • Proven ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities with attention to detail.

  • Excellent written communication skills, including user manuals, quick reference guides, mockups, and training materials.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Relevant certifications such as SAFe PO/PM or AI-related credentials preferred.

  • Knowledge of accessibility and compliance standards such as Section 508 is preferred.
