Job Description

Working Title: Social Science Research Coordinator

This position has been deemed critical by the School of Humanities and Sciences Dean’s Office and is exempt from the hiring freeze.

Work Arrangement: This is an on-site position, based on the Stanford campus.

Budgeted Salary: The budgeted base salary range for this position is $30.00 to 40.00 per hour.

The School of Humanities and Sciences (H&S) (https://humsci.stanford.edu/) is the foundation of a liberal arts education at Stanford. The school encompasses 24 departments and 25 interdisciplinary programs. H&S is home to fundamental and applied research, where free, open, and critical inquiry is pursued across disciplines. As the university’s largest school, H&S serves as the foundation of a Stanford undergraduate education no matter which discipline students pursue as a major. Graduate students work alongside world-renowned faculty to pursue and shape foundational research that leads to breakthroughs and discoveries that shed new light on the past, influence the present, and shape the future. Department/Program Description:

The Stanford Department of Psychology has a long-standing tradition of ground-breaking research that also has powerful impact in the real world. The department is ranked as one of the top psychology programs in the US.

Lab Description:

Understanding speech often feels effortless and natural, yet how the brain transforms fast-unfolding acoustic signals into meaningful language remains largely unknown. The Gwilliams Lab of Speech Neuroscience uses interdisciplinary methods to understand the neural dynamics of speech comprehension. Position Summary: This is a 100%, non-exempt, one year fixed term position.

Preferred Requirements:

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Two year college degreein psychology or a related field (e.g., population health) and at least one year of relevant experience an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

  • Prior experience working with clinical populations in health settings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • General understanding of scientific theory and research methods.

  • General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.

  • Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.

  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work with human study participants
