Job Summary Summary<br>Responsible for the operation and maintenance of a high pressure heating plant. and reassembles boilers, as required. — Performs repairs to boilers. — Repairs pipes, paints and removes equipment for repair or replacement, as required.<br><br>Does this position require Patient Care?<br>No<br><br>Essential Functions<br>-Maintain, operate, repair and clean power plant equipment. <br> -Observe the operation of the plant and make necessary adjustments. <br> -Respond to emergencies and equipment breakdown. <br> -Read meters and gauges at specified intervals to insure proper temperature, pressure, water levels, etc. <br> -Keep power plant logs by recording readings, steam and power generated, fuel usage, maintenance performed and similar data to keep accurate records. <br> -Responsible for testing boiler water and returns. <br> -Add chemicals when necessary for proper mix to insure correct balance. <br>

Qualifications

Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma Engineering required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials 3rd Class Engineer [Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Department of Fire Services required Hoisting Engineer [Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Department of Public Safety and Inspections Division preferred

Experience Engineering Experience 2-3 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and select a course of action regarding equipment failures and repair.
  • Knowledgeable in general engineering principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Strong mathematical and planning skills.
