Summary

You will serve as a AIR OPERATIONS MANAGER in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (N3), AIR OPERATIONS PROGRAM (N32) DEPARTMENT of COMMANDER NAVY REGION HAWAII. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.

Duties

  • You will track activity manning levels, program training accomplishments, and the equipment required to execute the installation Air Operations mission, ensuring installation N32 compliance with published directives and enhancing mission readiness.
  • You will coordinate work requirements with all levels (e.g., installation senior leadership, CNIC N32) to ensure Air Operations program initiatives support regional requirements.
  • You will monitor airfield inspections, equipment certifications, and program readiness reports to ensure discrepancies are addressed and technical support is provided to maintain a high level of region and installation N32 mission readiness.
  • You will develop draft responses to general inquiries and requests for information pertaining to N32, from the public, Congress, White House, federal agencies, and state/local governments.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Tracking activity manning levels, program training accomplishments, and the equipment required to execute the installation Air Operations mission, ensuring installation compliance with published directives and enhancing mission readiness; 2) Coordinating work requirements with all levels to ensure Air Operations program initiatives support regional requirements; 3) Monitoring various airfield inspections, equipment certifications, and program readiness reports to ensure discrepancies are addressed and adequate resources or technical support are provided to maintain a high level of mission readiness; 4) Executing the mission of the Air Operations Directorate and the Programmatic to support POM, budget, programming and spend plan execution; 5) Providing leadership, direction, management, productivity, and cost effectiveness of Region Operations program Airfield Operations; 6) Working with installation Commanding Officers, major claimants, region coordinators, and Fleet and Numbered staffs to coordinate region mission capabilities to meet operational and mission requirements for air terminal and air field. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is primarily sedentary; however, carrying of light weight articles, walking, standing, climbing, lifting, stooping, bending, and travel via military or commercial conveyance are periodically required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is generally performed in an adequately lighted, heated and ventilated office setting environment; however, the incumbent is required to travel to PMRF to conduct airfield and flight line inspections which exposes the incumbent to high velocity winds, exhaust fumes, dust, and high levels of noise, and requires the use of personal protective equipment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
