Job Title: Project Accountant (Data Center Project)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Project Accountant to join our team full-time on-site in either Umatilla, OR or Hermiston, OR. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The successful candidate will primarily handle accounts payable and some accounts receivable duties using ERP systems. This role involves performing union payroll for 5-15 employees weekly, with the potential for this number to increase with new projects. Training will be provided for certified payroll tasks. The Project Accountant will ensure the accuracy of ledger entries, reconcile subsidiary accounts, and assist with monthly and annual financial close processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform union payroll for employees weekly and train on certified payroll as necessary.

  • Ensure accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.

  • Assist with monthly and annual financial close processes, including preparation of consolidated financial statements.

  • Perform complex reconciliations, including liability account roll forwards and monthly bank reconciliations.

  • Assist with internal and external audits.

  • Prepare and review journal entries and correct accounting posting errors.

  • Utilize Textura, Report Now, and Pro-Cor software for various accounting tasks.

  • Assist management with preparing and analyzing various reporting needs such as Progress Billings, Lean restrictions, and Retention bonds.

  • Work with construction accounting systems, including Netsuite, Sage, Timberline, and others.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting.

  • 3-5 years of related construction or manufacturing experience.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel with vlookups and pivot tables.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Textura software is a plus.

  • Experience in accounts payable and receivable.

  • Customer service skills in contractor and subcontractor environments.

  • Familiarity with public works and certified payroll.

Work Environment

The work environment is 100% onsite, providing a structured and collaborative atmosphere. The company offers free onsite parking when working in the trailer. The role involves significant use of Excel and various accounting software systems to support project accounting tasks. The organization has a rich history spanning 140 years and is actively expanding into data center projects with a substantial revenue base.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Umatilla, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
