But our focus never changes: improve the lives of all Coloradans through innovation and collaboration. We're building one of the nation's leading government IT organizations by reimagining how we support agencies, building first-of-their-kind applications, and creating an inclusive, collaborative culture, together. For the most equitable applicant experience, OIT’s hiring team considers only the contents of your application to review your qualifications. Please do not include any attachments (such as resume or cover letter) with your application as these items are not used by OIT’s hiring team.
Step into a pivotal technical leadership role as the OIT Principal Salesforce Developer, where you will shape the architectural vision, engineering standards, and strategic execution for the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) Salesforce portfolio. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role offers you a dynamic blend of strategic leadership and hands-on execution across the full Salesforce SDLC. As OIT’s primary technical and architectural resource, you will bridge the gap between high-level strategies, agency stakeholders, and cross-functional project teams to solve CDEC’s most complex Salesforce challenges.
Essential Functions:
-
Strategic Leadership and Governance: Collaborate with OIT leadership to guide strategic planning, system modernization, compliance, and technology roadmaps. Act as a trusted advisor to agency stakeholders and executive leadership. Provide insight on AI use and governance with Salesforce development.
-
Architecture and SDLC Execution: Lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable Salesforce solutions. Hands-on duties span requirements gathering, secure coding standards, unit/integration testing, and solution documentation.
-
Release Management and Deployments: Drive configuration management and version control for Salesforce metadata. Oversee deployment pipelines, release strategies, and environment alignment.
-
Modernization and Lifecycle Management: Lead efforts to refactor technical debt, sunset obsolete components (e.g., migrating legacy automations and Visualforce to modern Flow and LWC), and align architecture with enterprise standards.
-
Operational Support and Maintenance: Oversee tier-3 Salesforce support, ranging from complex bug resolution to major feature enhancements and application rollouts.
-
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively across matrixed teams, mentor Senior Salesforce Developers, lead remediation efforts, and navigate organizational protocols to align engineering resources.
-
Qualifications and Scope: Bring all core capabilities of a Senior Salesforce Developer, paired with proven architectural experience in enterprise-level strategic planning and cross-departmental alignment.
A wide salary range is posted for this position and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While all offers are compliant with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, there is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.
