Full job description

We are looking for a talented Health, Safety and Environmental Tech - Level III – OFFC to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our Cummins Inc. facility in Mineral Point, WI.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Drive HSE Culture : Promote health, safety, and environmental awareness across the site, ensuring it becomes an integral part of daily operations.

  • Identify and Close Gaps : Analyze corporate and local HSE policies to pinpoint compliance gaps and support corrective actions.

  • Enhance Risk Management : Assist in hazard identification, incident investigations, and risk assessments to reduce workplace risks.

  • Support Continuous Improvement : Gather and analyze HSE data to identify trends and recommend proactive improvements.

  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance : Help maintain local HSE policies and procedures aligned with legal and corporate requirements.

  • Strengthen Emergency Preparedness : Contribute to emergency response planning and readiness activities for site safety.

  • Foster Engagement : Participate in employee engagement initiatives to build an interdependent safety culture.

  • Enable Effective Communication : Provide clear guidance and reporting support to ensure timely and accurate incident documentation.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Master Efficient Processes : Understand and apply the most effective work methods while continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.

  • Champion Safety Culture : Model proactive health and safety behaviors, actively identify hazards, and engage in initiatives that foster an injury-free workplace.

  • Investigate and Analyze Incidents : Conduct thorough evidence-based investigations with accurate root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and improve reporting quality.

  • Apply HSE Management Systems : Interpret international standards and integrate them into practical site operations to maintain compliance and achieve certifications.

  • Perform Risk Assessments : Use hazard identification and risk evaluation techniques to prioritize and implement control measures that minimize risk effectively.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • A two-year University degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or related field preferred.

  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience in health, safety, and environment.

Additional Information

  • Support and drive risk reduction programs eg. Hand Safety.

  • Support and drive Safety Rep program.

  • Delivering safety training.

  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with cross functional teams.

  • Proactively manage required compliance tasks.

  • Preparation of safety communications.
