Description
Amazon Leo is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon Leo will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
As a Technical Program Manager for phased array systems, you will drive the end-to-end execution of complex, cross-functional programs spanning hardware, firmware, software, and RF engineering. You will work closely with antenna systems architects, hardware design teams, and FW/SW engineers to coordinate the development, integration, and delivery of phased array antenna systems. Your responsibilities will include:

Managing program schedules, risks, and dependencies across antenna subsystem development and integration milestones

Driving cross-functional coordination between FPGA, firmware, RF, networking, and mechanical engineering teams

Defining and tracking technical requirements for phased array antenna systems from concept through production

Leading design reviews, trade studies, and technical decision-making processes across disciplines

Establishing and managing hardware test automation programs and bring-up processes for phased array systems

Developing program metrics, reporting mechanisms, and escalation paths for antenna system deliverables
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
Basic Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
-
5+ years of technical product or program management experience
-
7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
-
3+ years of software development experience
-
5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
-
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
-
5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
-
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
-
Experience with phased array antenna systems, RF engineering, or satellite communication systems
-
Familiarity with FPGA development workflows, firmware integration, or embedded systems programs

Experience with hardware test automation frameworks and bring-up processes

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
