Full job description

The West Seneca Central School District is seeking a full-time, probationary teacher to provide instruction to Students with Disabilities at the middle school level. The ideal candidate must be certified to teach 8:1 Special Education courses in Social Studies. The assignment will include delivering instruction in both integrated co-teaching and self-contained (8:1) classroom settings, along with academic support.

The successful candidate will receive salary and benefits paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association collective bargaining agreement and commensurate with experience.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate planning and preparation, instructional skills, effective classroom management and be motivated to engage in continuous professional development.

Job Qualifications

Required Certification: Students with Disabilities 7-12 or Students with Disabilities - All Grades and Social Studies 5-9 or, 7-9 or, 7-12

Preferred Certification: Additional certification in any content area (i.e. ELA, Science and/or Mathematics Gr 7-12)

Specialized Training:

  • Co-Teaching Experience

  • Professional Learning Communities

  • At Risk Youth

Technology Literacy:

  • Experience Using Technology as an Instructional Tool

  • Frontline IEP

  • Google Apps for Education

  • Promethean Boards and Smart Boards

  • Microsoft Office
