Full job description

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead core accounting activities and help maintain accurate, timely financial reporting for our San Francisco, California team. This role will oversee key close processes, strengthen balance sheet integrity, and support day-to-day accounting operations with a strong command of reconciliations and ledger management. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach, sound technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to improve consistency across essential financial workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead full monthly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting

  • Develop inventory, cost, and manufacturing accounting processes

  • Build and enhance accounting systems, reporting tools, and infrastructure

  • Establish controls, policies, and audit-ready procedures to support growth

  • Streamline AP/AR processes and assist with cash flow management

  • Deliver timely financial reports for executives, board members, and investors

  • Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy

  • Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with external advisors

  • Manage audit preparation and external auditor relationships

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a growing accounting team

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong hands-on responsibility

  • CPA preferred; Big Four and manufacturing industry exposure a plus

  • Background in inventory, cost, and manufacturing accounting

  • ERP implementation or system ownership experience

  • Experience supporting audits and compliance requirements

  • Proven ability to build processes in fast-paced, evolving environments

  • Self-starter with a strong sense of accountability

  • Skilled at partnering with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams

  • High-growth or venture-backed company experience preferred
