Description The Claims Incubator is an exciting team that partners with groups across the organization to bring new products to market, and test and expand products post launch.
We are seeking an individual with strong experience in USRM Personal Lines APD and TL claims handling to join our team!
This role focuses on claims adjusting and continuous improvement of claims processes for new and innovative products and solutions. You will work closely with home office claims process owners and other cross-functional stakeholders to test new products and claims processes. You will independently handle Personal Lines APD claims (repairable and total loss) under limited supervision. You may also handle some Business Lines APD claims, depending on the product and the need to balance workloads amongst your peers. You will partner with claims enabler groups to make final coverage and liability decisions while providing a differentiated customer experience to new product customers. You will escalate potential risks or problems with new product processes and work with project managers to problem-solve. You may also have the opportunity to present your continuous improvement findings to the Claims incubator team, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
This is a 12-month short-term assignment that requires APD and TL claims handling experience. The core and in-flight project work in the Claims Incubator is fluid so you may be asked to take on new responsibilities not captured here, and based on business need, it is possible your assignment may end early.
You must have been in your current role for at least one year for consideration. Eligibility is limited to current USRM APD Claims employees. Team Manager approval is required prior to posting.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures day-to-day claims activities are executed effectively, applying sound claims judgment
- Meets expected/required timelines and adheres to compliance and quality standards
- Works with and may coordinate vendor services, such as rental, repair shops, contractors, experts and various replacement services
- Engages and escalates claims to Incubator People Leader or core Claims operation based on complexity and specialized expertise needed
- Issues payments to customers in accordance with policy coverage and within approved authority level
- Works on project teams to streamline processes, enhance products and improve customer and employee experience
- Provides continuous improvement recommendations to product managers and stakeholders based on claims handling experience
- Strong USRM Personal Lines APD claims adjusting experience
- Comfortable advocating for the use of innovative techniques and solutions to improve the claims experience
- Passionate about making things better, open to new ideas and novel ways of working, and will positively contribute to and embrace a culture of experimentation.
Qualifications
- Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree or equivalent and 3 to 5 years of experience with increasing responsibilities
- Comfort with ambiguity and adaptable to change
- Ability to quickly learn a new process, which could include various claims systems
- Strong collaboration skills
- Ability to understand and adopt new processes and tools to handle claims for complex products/service offerings
- Strong written and communication skills; interpersonal skills; computer skills with the ability to work with multifaceted systems; and analytical skills
- Knowledge of property/casualty insurance, claims investigation, coverage evaluation, loss assessment, claims processes, applications/systems and procedures
- Ability to effectively and independently manage workload while exhibiting good judgment
- Ability to obtain proper licensing as required
