The Sheriff's Office is hiring for Sheriff's Property and Evidence Specialist II

** June 25, 2027 - 4.17% increase to base pay (3.00% Across-the-Board + 1.17% Market Increase)

About The Position Sheriff’s Property and Evidence Specialists II are assigned to the Sheriff’s Property and Evidence Unit. This position is responsible for specialized duties related to collection, preservation, secure storage, lawful disposal, and custody chain maintenance of property and physical evidence acquired by the Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies.

Minimum Qualifications• One (1) year of experience as a Sheriff's Property and Evidence Specialist I with the County of San Diego OR

  • Eighteen (18) months of experience receiving, storing, releasing, and disposing of property and evidence in a law enforcement agency

Note: A valid California Class C driver's license, which must be maintained throughout employment in this class, is required at time of appointment, or the ability to arrange necessary and timely transportation for field travel. Employees may be required to use their own vehicle. Conditions of Employment As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Additional types of background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position.

Background Investigation Incumbents must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Misdemeanor and/or felony convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity, and recency. Prior to appointment, candidates may be subject to a background investigation which may include a truth verification or other examination or test.
