Software Engineering builds the brains of Waymo's fully autonomous driving technology. Our software allows the Waymo Driver to perceive the world around it, make the right decision for every situation, and deliver people safely to their destinations. We think deeply and solve complex technical challenges in areas like robotics, perception, decision-making and deep learning, while collaborating with hardware and systems engineers. You will:
-
Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Contribute to existing projects maintaining millions of multi-modal examples and PiBs of feature data. .

Implement new systems to improve existing workflows.

Work with users and agents to identify use cases and flows that can be improved.
You have:
-
Python / C++ Coding.
-
Distributed Systems.
-
Familiarity with ML training and inference lifecycles.
We prefer:
-
Hands on experience with feature extraction, feature representations, distributed storage.
-
Experience with deep learning frameworks, TensorFlow, Jax.
-
Experience with autonomous driving and / or robotics.
Note: This will be a hybrid onsite internship position. We will accept resumes on a rolling basis until the role is filled. The expected annual pay for this full-time position is listed below. Interns are also eligible to participate in the Company’s generous benefits programs, subject to eligibility requirements.
Masters Pay £65,000—£65,000 GBP

PhD Pay £80,000—£80,000 GBP
