Job Description

Support Worker

Location: Absecon, NJ

Pay: $20 per hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM or 8:30AM to 5:00PM.

Position type: Full-time

Supreme Consultants is seeking Support Workers to assist individuals with disabilities in a residential setting. Support Workers help residents develop daily living skills, access services, and work toward greater independence.

Responsibilities

  • Spend at least 55% of each workday providing direct, face-to-face support to residents.

  • Document services and resident progress through daily shift notes, weekly progress notes, and other required records, including documentation for Medicaid reimbursement.

  • Connect documented services to goals in each resident’s Individual Recovery Plan (IRP).

  • Assist licensed staff in developing, implementing, monitoring, and updating IRPs.

  • Teach daily living skills such as budgeting, cooking, laundry, cleaning, shopping, personal hygiene, and self-advocacy.

  • Coordinate services and support social and recreational activities.

  • Provide crisis intervention when needed and communicate with residents’ families about progress and support needs.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Candidates must have one of the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a mental health or human services discipline; or

  • A high school diploma or GED and two years of related work; or

  • Certified Peer Specialist (CRSP) status and two years of related work or life experience.

Applicants should be able to write clear, accurate progress notes; manage the needs of multiple residents; and support individuals with disabilities with patience and professionalism. Strong communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills are essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, is required. Bilingual skills are a plus.
