JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: HSE Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Technical & HSE Manager
Type: 6 month Contract-to-hire
Benefits: Available

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB
The HSE Coordinator supports the facility's commitment to providing a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant
workplace. This position assists with the coordination and administration of health, safety, and environmental
programs; conducts workplace inspections; coordinates training activities; maintains compliance records and
documentation; supports incident investigations; and assists with regulatory compliance initiatives. The HSE
Coordinator serves as a resource on health, safety, and environmental matters while promoting a positive safety
culture throughout the facility.
A condition of employment requires that the incumbent learn, abide by, and sponsor the Guiding Principles of the
Freudenberg Group.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Conducts workplace inspections to identify safety and environmental concerns.

Assists with hazard identification and corrective action follow-up.
•Monitors compliance with company HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Coordinates and maintains HSE programs, records, and documentation.
-
Conducts HSE orientation for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
-
Maintains training records, coordinates training activities, assists with delivering recurring HSE training, and
supports safety communications and awareness initiatives.
-
Assists with incident, injury, near-miss, and environmental event investigations.
-
Tracks corrective and preventive actions through completion; follows up with responsible departments;
maintains supporting documentation and evidence; and escalates overdue or unresolved items to management.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), risk assessments, and safe work
procedures.
- Coordinates internal and external HSE audits, including audit preparation, scheduling, document and evidence
collection, corrective-action tracking, and closure follow-up.

Maintains a visible presence on the production floor to address HSE concerns and reinforce safe work practices.

Supports safety communications, daily huddles, supervisor safety talks, and employee engagement activities.

Assists with OSHA compliance activities and corrective action implementation.

Supports environmental compliance programs, including waste, recycling, wastewater, and air quality initiatives.

Maintains HSE metrics, compliance records, and environmental documentation; assists with preparation of
regulatory reports; tracks compliance deadlines; and supports recordkeeping activities for management review
and approval.
- Coordinates PPE administration activities, including inventory monitoring, employee requests, replacement
follow-up, distribution records, and related documentation.

Communicates HSE requirements, updates, and initiatives to employees as needed.

Identifies and communicates immediate safety concerns and may request that work activities be temporarily
paused pending review by the appropriate supervisor or manager when an imminent hazard is observed.

Supports emergency preparedness programs, drills, and response activities.

Participates in continuous improvement initiatives related to health, safety, and environmental performance.
-
Performs other duties as assigned.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
-
Moderate to loud production environment.
-
Frequent exposure to manufacturing equipment and machinery.
-
Regular interaction with production, engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, contractors, vendors, and
leadership teams.
- Frequent presence on the production floor conducting inspections, audits, observations, and employee safety
engagement.
- May require flexible hours to support training, audits, investigations, or emergency response activities.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE JOB
This position requires a highly engaged individual who can effectively work with employees and leadership at all levels
of the organization. The incumbent must be self-directed, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities
while maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Frequent walking and standing throughout the facility.

Ability to conduct inspections and audits in manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments.
-
Occasional lifting and carrying of training materials, safety equipment, and supplies up to 35 pounds.
-
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
-
Ability to access production areas to observe work activities, investigate incidents, and evaluate hazards.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
-
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
-
Knowledge of workplace safety principles, hazard recognition, and incident prevention practices.
-
Familiarity with risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action processes.
-
Ability to maintain accurate records, training documentation, and compliance-related data.
-
Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
-
Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability.
-
Effective interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
-
Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
-
Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are a plus.
-
Experience with SAP or other business systems is a plus.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
The following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) shall be worn when performing work duties, and at all times on the
production floor:

Team members will be trained on the proper use and care of assigned PPE. FNST provides the required PPE. It is the
associate’s responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to their
Manager/supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Environmental Science,
Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education, training,
certifications, and relevant experience will be considered.
- Three (3) years of health, safety, and environmental experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
preferred.

Experience conducting inspections, audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.

Knowledge of OSHA requirements and environmental regulations preferred.
