Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Secret-cleared System Test Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) by leading verification, validation, integration, and mission readiness efforts for complex satellite ground systems, including enterprise system integration, infrastructure testing, automated test development, and DevSecOps-enabled software delivery pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute system-level test strategies, plans, procedures, and verification artifacts.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure test standardization and achievement of performance objectives.
- Coordinate test activities across multiple vendors, engineering teams, Agile teams, and government stakeholders.
- Manage the Integrated Master Test Schedule (IMTS) for DT/OT events, integration milestones, readiness reviews, and certification activities.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, cybersecurity, and end-to-end mission system testing.
- Validate software builds, configuration changes, and modifications to satellite ground system components.
- Test enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and mission-critical services.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts integrated within DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated deployments, and integration workflows.
- Identify, document, and track system defects, conduct root cause analysis, and coordinate issue resolution.
- Produce test reports, readiness assessments, risk analyses, and leadership briefings.
- Ensure compliance with configuration management processes, cybersecurity requirements, and test documentation standards.
- Provide technical leadership during integration events, operational demonstrations, readiness reviews, and certification milestones.
This position will be onsite five days a week at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. The hourly rate for this role is between $57 - 72/hr depending on qualifications and years of experience.
Skills and Requirements
- Hold an active DoW Secret Security Clearance
- 6+ years of professional experience - May be reduced with completion of advanced education
- 3+ years of directly related experience in complex enterprise IT system testing and integration.
- Experience with enterprise IT infrastructure (servers, networks, storage, virtualization, system services).
- Demonstrated high proficiency in authoring comprehensive test plans and test cases, and leading the execution of complex test campaigns.
- Experience designing or executing test automation solutions.
- Experience coordinating across multiple vendors, engineering teams, Agile environments, and government stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of requirements analysis, verification methodologies, and the Systems Engineering V model.
- Experience decomposing complex systems into testable components.
- Familiar with Agile practices and secure development workflows.
- Experience with space mission systems or enterprise satellite ground architectures.
- Active DoW 8570 IAT Level II certifications such as Security• Be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Be familiar with DevSecOps/DevOps pipelines, CI/CD workflows, automated software deployments, and secure, air-gapped environments.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical field
- Be able to operate independently within classified DoD environments.
