Full job description

Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Analyst to support receivables management and customer account resolution for a service-focused organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical ability with a customer-first approach to payment support, collections, and issue resolution. The person in this role will work closely with customers and internal teams to address outstanding balances, investigate billing concerns, and help maintain healthy account relationships through clear, timely communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts, following established collection practices to reduce delinquent balances and improve payment performance.

  • Contact customers and coordinate with internal partners to remove obstacles that delay payment, including invoice questions, balance discrepancies, and payment method concerns.

  • Research overdue account issues by gathering details from customers and collaborating across teams to validate claims and determine appropriate resolutions.

  • Identify the underlying reasons for non-payment and recommend or take the next corrective steps to bring accounts current.

  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries using available systems and tools, providing guidance, troubleshooting support, and accurate information to resolve concerns efficiently.

  • Maintain detailed records of conversations, findings, follow-up actions, and outcomes within platforms such as Salesforce and payment management systems.

  • Recognize recurring customer issues, evaluate trends, and share insights with leadership or teammates to improve processes and reduce repeat problems.

  • Prioritize daily activities independently, balancing inbound requests, outbound collections efforts, case follow-up, and ongoing operational responsibilities in a fast-paced setting.

  • Communicate updates clearly to customers, management, and internal stakeholders, escalating cases when additional support or specialized action is needed. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant hands-on experience.

  • At least 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, billing support, or a related finance-focused role.

  • Demonstrated ability to investigate payment issues, solve problems effectively, and address customer concerns with professionalism and empathy.

  • Experience working with invoicing, payment portal, or accounts receivable systems; familiarity with Salesforce, VersaPay, or Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a plus.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain account information clearly to customers and internal partners.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to handle confidential financial and customer information with discretion.

  • Experience using collaboration and reporting tools such as Slack, Zoom, or Power BI is beneficial.
