Job Description

Manages ongoing critical environment maintenance by completing standard diagnostics and repairs and resolving issues. Manages incidents impacting services and conducts root cause analysis to mitigate recurrence and improve system resilience. Conducts data center build site reviews and assessments in collaboration with other teams to evaluate suitability for data center builds. Supports and validates on-site data centers operations in relation to the electrical or mechanical infrastructure. Coordinates with internal and external project team members in delivering specific aspects of data centers or part-data centers for Oracle.

Responsibilities

KeyResponsibilities

Critical Environment Maintenance Support:

-Manages the ongoing critical environment

maintenance support for all service lines to pre-defined SLAs to ensure service

uptime is maintained to the highest standards and that faults are dealt with

promptly.

-Employs practical operating knowledge of engineering

systems, including standard diagnostics and repairs.

-Applies knowledge of Oracle processes,

procedures, and industry standards to resolve routine issues.

-Offers suggestions for system-level enhancements

to reduce potential problems.

-Contributes to testing the suitability of

components or action plans for deployments.

Incident Management and Operation Improvement:

-Manages incidents that impact OCI services,

proactively addressing root causes in a timely manner.

-Collaborates with design, construction,

commissioning, facility engineering, data center operations, health and safety,

and compliance teams to integrate new electrical distribution systems to

existing data center.

-Empowers operational optimization and efficiency

improvement initiatives.

-Ensures alignment of own work with safe working

practices.

-Provides expertise during post-incident reviews

by conducting root cause analyses, documenting lessons learned, and developing

Corrective and Preventive Action Plans (CAPAs) to mitigate recurrence and

improve system resilience.

Site Selection and Build:

-Conducts site reviews and assessments in

collaboration with other teams to evaluate suitability for data center builds,

gathering and analyzing technical, environmental, and infrastructure data to inform

decision-making.

-Prepares technical reports to document findings,

support recommendations, and communicate results to stakeholders.

-Participates in design reviews and oversees

commissioning activities in collaboration with other teams, reviewing data to

ensure alignment with engineering standards and project requirements.

-Reviews mechanical simulations (e.g.,

Computational Fluid Dynamics [CFD] analyses) to assess airflow and thermal

performance, identifying design adjustments to improve system efficiency,

reliability, and performance.

Data Center Operations Management:

-Supports and validates on-site data centers

operations in relation to the electrical or mechanical infrastructure.

-Serves as an electrical or mechanical subject

matter expert (SME) for on-site operations related to mission critical

electrical systems, operations, and functionality.

-Partners with the colocation providers'

engineering teams to ensure electrical or mechanical systems are adequately

designed, specified, and installed to deliver robust operation for Oracle.

-Adheres to developed standards and policy through

the review of documentation, participates in commissioning activities, design

summits, and data center commissioning or reviews.

-Reviews critical impacting changes and represents

engineering in change advisory board (CAB) meetings.

Engineering Design, Leadership, and Governance:

-Collaborates with senior team members and

supports a project or other design and engineering initiatives.

-Provides engineering insight to ensure project or

other design initiatives align with company expectations.

-Coordinates with internal and external project

team members in delivering specific aspects of data centers or part-data

centers for Oracle.

-Provides input for effective contract administration,

including supporting the generation and review of contracts, change orders,

cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents.

-Contributes to the development of policy

documents by collaborating with team members.

-Contributes to the creation and upkeep of

best-in-class policies and procedures, participating in their review as

necessary.

-Prepares technical reports to document findings,

communicate progress, and support project or design decision-making.

Training and Knowledge Sharing:

-Contributes to the identification of training

programs for newer members of the team.

-Acts as a subject matter expert with many

standard systems and trains others on the team.

-Manages and coordinates moderately complex tasks,

monitoring timelines and deliverables to ensure timely completion and adherence

to requirements for a moderately-sized project or initiative. Efficiently

delegates, monitors, and prioritizes work across multiple projects, providing

technical oversight and adjusting plans to address shifts in resources or

timelines.

Collaboration & Partnership:

-Collaborates across the organization to align on

expectations and achieve shared objectives. Leverages understanding of business

leaders, stakeholders, and/or customers to ensure proposed solutions meet their

needs. Supports inclusivity by actively seeking and listening to diverse

perspectives, ensuring others feel heard and respected.

Problem Solving:

-Identifies and addresses moderately complex

issues by analyzing a wide range of data and/or information to identify

solutions in accordance with standard practices. Proactively escalates

unresolved or critical issues with a thorough assessment and suggests potential

solutions. Reviews, contributes to, and documents problem solving strategies.

Continuous Learning:

-Pursues learning opportunities to expand

knowledge and skills and/or tools in new areas and stays abreast of the latest

industry trends and best practices. Proactively seeks and leverages ongoing

feedback and training to improve skills. Coaches and mentors junior team

members, fostering continuous learning and knowledge sharing within and across

teams.

Continuous Improvement:

-Develops ideas, recommends updates, and/or

collaborates on the implementation of process improvements to increase the

efficiency and effectiveness of processes, protocols, and workflows across

teams, and evaluates the impact on key stakeholders. Solicits feedback from

others on ideas for alternative approaches and methods for continued

improvement.

Performance and Development:

-Contributes to the talent development pipeline by

participating in candidate interviews, assessing candidates, and providing

hiring recommendations.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $102,300 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
