Job Description

Design, simulate, and optimize switched-capacitor DAC (CapDAC) architectures for high-performance ADC and mixed-signal systems. Develop and implement 12-bit capacitive DAC arrays with a focus on linearity, matching, power efficiency, and robustness. Design CapDAC solutions supporting 100 MHz and higher sampling frequencies. Perform detailed noise analysis, including thermal noise, kT/C noise, quantization noise, mismatch effects, and dynamic performance trade-offs. Conduct transistor-level design, simulation, and verification using industry-standard EDA tools. Work closely with system architects and layout engineers to ensure design performance is maintained through silicon implementation. Analyze and optimize performance metrics including: INL/DNL SNR/SNDR SFDR ENOB Power consumption Settling time Support silicon bring-up, characterization, and lab validation efforts. Collaborate across mixed-signal teams to develop high-performance ADC and data-conversion solutions.

Skills and Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field 5+ years of experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design. Strong experience designing switched-capacitor circuits and CapDAC architectures. Proven experience with 12-bit capacitive DAC implementations. Experience designing data converter circuits operating at 100 MHz or higher. Deep understanding of analog noise mechanisms and hands-on experience performing CapDAC noise analysis. Strong knowledge of: Analog CMOS design Sampling circuits Charge redistribution techniques Capacitor matching and calibration methods SAR ADC architectures Experience with SAR ADC design and capacitor array optimization.
