Job DescriptionOur Second Chance Workforce Consultant serves within the Employment Services (ES) division in Columbia. The Second Chance Workforce Consultant position is rooted on the agency's heightened focus on justice-involved and reentry programs. These specialized roles are essential for serving returning citizens, addressing barriers to employment, and facilitating services necessary for successful reintegration into the workforce. This position will assist with coordinating trainings, services, and recruitment events for justice-involved individuals both in-person and virtually. This role serves as the main point of contact for these programs, coordinating trainings, services, and recruitment events for justice-involved individuals. The role also manages key partnerships like the SC Department of Corrections and partners with Workforce Development for grant opportunities, the Workforce Opportunity Tax Credit, and Federal Bonding. Key Responsibilities• Identify barriers to employment and develops solutions in coordination with clients. Provide focused services that engage the jobseeker in career readiness activities.
- Perform customer focused case management and career planning to identify barriers to employment and develop solutions for clients by conducting needs assessments, assisting with the development of Individualized Employment Plans, and providing focused services.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all case management services in SCWOS. Position may require assisting with ES programs such as but not limited to the Wagner-Peyser program, TAA program, MSFW program, and the Veteran Services Program
- Meet regularly with SCDC staff to plan out schedules, technology, classrooms, and event dates.
- Manage virtual solutions for areas responsible which includes classes, workshops, and case management meetings.
- Work with local areas and Area Directors for planning hiring events and virtual events.

Education and Experience A bachelor's degree in a related field and experience in career counseling or related case management; OR a high school diploma with a minimum of four years of experience providing client centered case management, counseling, or a related field.
