Overview

As a Strategic Enterprise Account Director, you will lead a team of Strategic Account Executives supporting strategic financial services customers, with accounts across New York, Boston, and the Washington, D.C. area. This is a people-leadership role with responsibility for both customer success and business growth. You will coach your team, build relationships with customer executives, and bring together sales, technical, industry, and partner teams to solve business challenges. Your focus will be on connecting technology decisions to what matters to each customer—and helping your team turn those opportunities into results.

You will set direction for a complex portfolio of accounts while staying close to execution: where to invest time, how to strengthen customer relationships, and what needs to happen next. Success means growing revenue, increasing adoption and use of technology, strengthening customer satisfaction, and developing the people who make those outcomes possible.

This role is based in New York City with frequent travel to Boston and Washington, D.C., to support customer relationships and lead the team across these markets.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver business growth through leading and empowering account teams. You will lead execution of Go to Market (GTM) to deliver customers’ business outcomes across their entire lifecycle.

  • Accelerate customer satisfaction and model executive engagements with business decision makers and C-level executives.

  • Win against competition by establishing Microsoft as market leaders, maximizing Customer spend, achieving targets (billed revenue, consumption, and adoption).

  • Lead partnership across the organization to achieve business value for customers and business results for Microsoft.

  • Deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring of your team.

  • Develop, empower and transform your team to meet industry and customer needs by hiring, retaining, and developing talent.

  • Oversees the development of a mature/dynamic multi-year customer plan detailing critical insights and new business opportunities aligned to customer priorities and lead and coordinates a diverse team and key stakeholders (e.g., industry experts) on plan execution while driving accountability to deliver on account plans and grow the account.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND 5+ years experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND 6+ years experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years direct/formal, indirect/informal, and/or project team people management experience.

Other Requirements

  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States that does not now or in the future require employer sponsorship.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND 6+ years experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical), Business Management, Economics, or related field AND 10+ years experience in sales, marketing/advertising, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, and/or leadership roles in multi-tiered large organizations OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience leading teams in a Sales organization.

  • 4+ years direct/formal people management experience.

  • A demonstrated record of growing market share and achieving sales targets.

  • Experience building executive customer relationships, developing account plans, and collaborating with partners.

  • Experience translating customer priorities into technology solutions and business outcomes.

Sales Management M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,000 - $222,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $170,300 - $239,800 per year.
